New Creative Writing Workshops in West Jefferson, NC and Folly Beach, SC

Please join Miles for his next ‘Writing for Change’ workshop on Sat., April 28 from 1-5 pm at Florence Thomas Art School, Inc. in West Jefferson. Call Florence Thomas Art School at 336-846-3827 to register. Then, on Sat., May 19, he will offer another 'Writing for Change' workshop at the Folly Beach Branch Library in Folly Beach. The cost per person for each workshop is $65.

As part of his New River Writers/Ashley River Writers creative writing workshop offering, his workshops include: Writing for Change, Journalism, Journaling, Journaling with Watercolors, For Family, History & Legacy, Memoir, Landscape as Mindscape, On Being Episcopalian, and The Art of Writing...for Fun!

Miles, who has worked as a journalist and writer for over 30 years, writing for numerous newspapers and magazines, and garnering writing awards from Appalachian State University, the North Carolina Press Association, North Carolina Bar Association, and the North Carolina Writer’s Network, also offers manuscript editing, retreats and content creation for news, features, profiles, blogs, commentaries, and histories.

He is now setting appointments for one-on-one sessions with writers who have taken workshops or those who are currently writing and want to have their work readied for publication, contests, or presentations to family, and friends. There is no charge for the first session.

His nonfiction book, Grandfather Mountain, A Profile, won the North Carolina Historical Society Book of the Year award in 1999 and is on the Approved Reading Lists for North Carolina Public Schools and libraries.
