A journalist and writer for 35 years, Miles Tager has corresponded for numerous publications throughout the country.  He is a former reporter for the Raleigh News & Observer, Asheville Citizen Times, and The Mountain Times of Boone, NC. Miles also co-founded the Writer’s Workshop of Asheville, and Greenline (now Mountain Xpress) newspaper in Asheville. He currently runs The New River Writer’s Workshop and Halcyon Marketing in North and South Carolina.

Miles has received two North Carolina Press Association Awards, a North Carolina Bar Association Award for Excellence in Media and the Law, a Blumenthal Series Award for Short Fiction, a North Carolina Writer’s Network Award for Creative Non-Fiction,  and awards from Appalachian State University and the North Carolina History Association for his book Grandfather Mountain, A Profile. His planned books include Homage to Appalachia and The Accidental Episcopalian.
